Patience is a Virtue

Day Three to Panhead City., Rome, Georgia

We left Maggie Valley this morning at ten am. The route took us through some of the best riding territor in the country. We took US 19 out of Wheels Through Time and then US 28 (the roadthat will eventually lead you to the Tail of the Dragon). Before the Dragon, we took 143 west and the Cherohala into Tennessee.

We got into Panhead City in Rome, GA, well before sundown and hot food and cold beer was waiting for us there. Panhead City is a combination vintage bike shop and part place.

On the ride over, just outside of Maggie Valley, Old Faithful broke down. It just shut down. Upon inspection I saw that the headlight was not working either, so I knew the problem was electrical. Turned out to be nothing but a blown fuse, which I always carry a spare for, so soon I was once again on my way and caught up with the group by the first gas stop.

Other casualties included an old timer Harley that lost the front cylinder and another Honda, a CL305, which quit two miles out of Panhead City. That, too, turne dout to be a fuse and was easily fixed.
